What will your job be

As a Technical Specialist Microbiology you will be the single point of contact for the Microbiology lab during new product implementations, investigations and qualifications. In this way, you ensure that the microbiological assays can technically be executed in a manner that is efficient, cGMP compliant and safe. Your responsibilities include:

  • Serve as an expert on Microbiology technologies such as Bioburden, Endotoxin, Sterility and Speciation testing.
  • Represent the team during meetings and act as subject matter expert during audits and inspection
  • Responsible for deviation management
  • Act as lead investigator for local/global Non-Conformances which encompasses conducting the investigation, providing product impact assesments and identifying appropriate corrective and prevenctive actions
  • Participate in or lead special projects or studies, and lead and drive continuous improvement processes

What are we looking for

From a Technical Specialist Microbiology we are looking for an enthousiastic HLO or MSc candidate in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology or Comparable. 

  • At least 3-5 years experience with microbiology techniqes: Bioburden, Endotoxin, Sterility and Speciation testing.
  • GMP experience is a plus
  • Analytical thinking and (technical) problem solving skills
  • English and fluent Dutch language skills are required

  • Salary indication up to €4300,- gross per month based on fulltime 
  • Full-time position (40 hours/week), 32 hours/week is discussable
  • Dayshift

Where will you work

Our client in Leiden is a pharmaceutical company specialised in the development of vaccines. This role is in the Microbiology test team responsible for execution of test methods using various microbiological assays. Samples ranging from early clinical up to commercial process control, release and stability.
