What are you going to do?
As an Account Manager Water Quality, you will be primarily responsible for managing the relationship with a drinking water company as a key account. In addition, you will manage and develop a portfolio of specialized external clients. You will act as the link between customers, technologists, advisors, and laboratory specialists. You will monitor agreements, contribute your expertise to water quality and research matters, and translate customer needs into suitable services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and strengthen the relationship with a drinking water company as a key account
- Manage and develop a portfolio of external clients, including hospitals and educational institutions in the Netherlands and abroad
- Monitor contractual agreements, monitoring programs, service delivery, and financial progress
- Organize customer meetings and evaluations and ensure that agreements are followed up
- Translate customer needs into appropriate advice, research assignments, and projects
- Coordinate with technologists, advisors, and laboratory specialists on quotations, quality, and project execution
- Identify commercial opportunities and contribute to the development of new services and partnership agreements
What do we ask?
For this Account Manager Water Quality position, we are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and communication skills and a natural ability to connect people. You can easily navigate between laboratory processes and customer organizations and know how to communicate complex information clearly. You are also proactive, forward-thinking, and confident in taking responsibility. Furthermore, you have:
- A completed hbo or MSc degree in Chemistry, Biology, Water Management, or another relevant field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in account management, relationship management, contract management, project management, or consultancy
- Affinity with and knowledge of laboratory processes, combined with an interest in drinking water production and water treatment processes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly
- A customer-focused and collaborative approach, with an eye for long-term customer relationships, business agreements, and different stakeholder interests
- A valid driver's license and excellent command of both Dutch and English
(36 - 40 hours/week)

- Salary ranging from €4,150 to €5,750 gross per month, based on full-time employment

Our client in Haarlem is a leading laboratory specializing in water quality. With expertise in chemistry, biology, and toxicology, the laboratory supports water authorities and partners in monitoring the quality of drinking water and surface water. Our client employs approximately 100 people.
