Recruitment and selection of highly educated professionals require the right approach, precise candidate engagement, and a strong understanding of the field. We expect you to think along with us and take the initiative to continuously improve our work.
As a Scientific Recruiter (PhD), you excel in networking, relationship management, and client collaboration. You leverage your scientific expertise and interpersonal skills to build long-term relationships with both clients and candidates—ranging from early-career professionals to experienced experts. Positions you will recruit for include (Associate) Scientist, Project Leader, QA Specialist, Lab Manager, Researcher, and more.
Your ability to assess people accurately is crucial, and your technical knowledge makes the difference. Our clients rely on us to understand their processes and provide expert-level recruitment solutions.
Your Responsibilities
As a Scientific Recruiter, you are responsible for the entire recruitment process. Your daily tasks will include:
- Acting as the primary contact for clients, advising and supporting them in solving staffing challenges.
- Developing and executing online and offline recruitment strategies, building a strong network of candidates.
- Conducting interviews to assess candidates' technical knowledge and personality, evaluating their suitability and advising them on career opportunities.
- Introducing suitable candidates to clients with a well-founded explanation of their qualifications.
- Guiding candidates throughout the hiring process, from the initial interview to successful placement.
You will also represent CheckMark at career fairs and industry events, maintain strong relationships within academia, and actively strengthen your professional network.

What do we ask?
You have a PhD in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Work experience in a commercial role or recruitment is not required, but a service-oriented, proactive, and commercial mindset is essential. You are fluent in both Dutch and English, well-organized, highly communicative, and able to quickly gain an overview in a dynamic work environment.
You live within a reasonable commuting distance from Gouda or are willing to relocate.
(32 - 40 hours/week)
What do we have to offer?
- Salary range: €3,300 - €4,300 gross per month (full-time), depending on relevant work experience.
- Contract: One-year contract with the possibility of a permanent position.
- Working hours: 32-40 hours per week.

- Flexible working hours: Start your workday between 08:00 and 09:30, with options for remote work.
