Wat ga je doen?
As Lab Technician Genetics you will be responsible for the improvement of microbial strains for biotech applications using your skills in microbiology, microbiology and strain engineering. Your responsibilities include:
- Organize and independently perform experimental work related to microbial screening and strain development
- You make use of different molecular laboratory techniques such as cloning, transformation, PCR, genome engineering and classical methods. In these experiments you will work with yeast, fungi and bacteria
- Processing and interpretation of experimental data, write experimental reports (English), and in-house presenting of technical data
- You are able to understand technical issues and support the strain development scientist to optimize screening and strain development processes and protocols
- Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues from strain development, fermentation, down-stream processes, application and analysis
- Being a professional you keep up with developments in your field of expertise and contribute to the professional know-how of the department
Wat vragen wij?
As Lab Technician Genetics we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidatet who recognize him- or herself in the following profile:
- MSc degree in the field of Life Science & Technology such as, Genetics, Strain development Microbiology, Biotechnology. This is not a PhD-level position
- Experience with microbiological screening and strain development (cloning, transformation, gene editing), with bacteria, fungi and/or yeast
- If you have made strains for protein production, this will be considered as a plus
- Curiousity, pragmatism and resilience to bring your scientific expertise into the development of new technologies for strain development
- Your personality can be described as result oriented and flexible. You are a real team player, a good communicator
- Fluent Dutch and English language skills
(40 uur/week)

- A 6 months contract at CheckMark, with the possibility of an extension
- Salary indication from €3500,- gross per month based on a full-time position
- Full-time position, where 32 hours a week is negotiable
- Dayshift
