What will your job be

As a Technician Fermentation you will organize and independently perform experimental fermentation work, both in the laboratory and sometimes also on pilot plant scale. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Conducting, analyzing and reporting fermentation of microbial products from yeast, fungi and animal cells fermentations
  • Understand technical issues and contribute to the optimization of fermentation processes and protocols to meet project goals and timelines
  • Processing and interpretation of experimental data, write experimental reports, and in-house presenting of technical data
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues from strain development, fermentation, down-stream processes, application and analysis

What are we looking for

For the position of Technician Fermentation we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who meets the following profile:

  • HBO degree in Life Science and Technology or other relevant field such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Technology etc.
  • Experience with running lab-scale and/or bench-scale fermentations of microbial products
  • Affinity for Microbiology and understanding what it means to work on bioprocesses in an industrial context
  • Being critical and analytical, a hands-on mentatility and having fun working in a laboratory
  • Good communication skills, fluent in Dutch and English
