What will your job be

As Account Manager Genomics you will be responsibleto to address the needs of the accounts, customer relationship management, and for the performance and growth of your accounts. These accounts are national and international and many are growing fast. Your responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the growth of a number of accounts by building strong customer relationships and cross selling of services
  • Be proactive and receptive to the needs & services required by the clients
  • Consultative sales and account management is the core of this function
  • The role requires both national and international travel

What are we looking for

For this position as Account Manager Genomics we are looking for an energetic candidate with affinity for microbiology and genomics and a procactive commercial mindset. Furthermore, we ask for:

  • BSc degree or higher in industrial or food biotechnology, nutrition sciences, bioinformatics, microbiology or related discipline 
  • Experience in account management or a similar commercial role in the biotechnology, food, feed or pharmaceutical industries
  • Demonstrable experience with microbiology and genomics technologies and/or a good network in the genomics market are a great advantage 
  • Ability to work effectively with scientists and researchers as clients
  • Can-do-mentality, focused, flexible and willingness to travel internationally
  • Excellent communication, negotation and networking skills

What do we offer

  • Long term position, which starts with a one year contract at the hiring company
  • Full-time position (40 hours/week), where 32 hours a week is negotiable
  • Salary indication up to €4700,- gross per month based on fulltime
  • Dayshift
  • Flexibility to work remotely for some days per week

Where will you work

Our client in Leiden provides genomics services to many different (inter)national biotech companies. Quality, speed and customer satisfaction are important pillars. In this role you will be part of an ambitious commercial team (7 fte) consisting out of account managers, business developers and marketeers, with ample opportunities to grow and lead.
